Muriel Landers (October 27, 1921 -- February 19, 1977) was an American actress, singer and dancer. She made over 30 film and television appearances between 1950 and 1971. Modern viewers will recognize Landers as Joe Besser's sister "Tiny" in the Three Stooges film Sweet and Hot. In this episode, Landers sang "Let's Fall in Love", revealing a strong and sultry singing voice." Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Landers made television appearances on such shows as Lidsville, Hogan's Heroes, The Jack Benny Show, The Red Skelton Show and The Beverly Hillbillies. Landers also made a memorable appearance in The Twilight Zone episode "A Piano in the House", playing Marge Moore, an overweight woman who is forced to reveal her inner sadness about feeling unloved and unwanted because of her girth. And in the 1970s she played MOMMY HOODOO in the Sid and Marty Kroft production of Lidsville. Landers suffered from hypertension and diabetes in the final years of her life. She died of a stroke on February 19, 1977, and is interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles, California. Although many individuals contributed to the film, British director Carol Reed is normally credited as the director. The film was promoted with the tagline, "The story of your victory...told by the guys who won it!" It won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. The documentary is notable for using multiple first person perspectives as narrative voices, somewhat in the manner of Tunisian Victory, except this time, instead of just an American GI and a British Tommie, the voices include a Canadian, a French resister, a Parisan civilian family, an African-American tank gunner, and several female perspectives including a nurse, and clerical staff. Werker as director. The film, shot in semidocumentary tone, was allegedly based on the real-life actions of Erwin "Machine-Gun" Walker. During production, one of the actors, Jack Webb, struck up a friendship with the police technical advisor, Detective Sergeant Marty Wynn, and was inspired by a conversation with Wynn to create the radio and later television program Dragnet. He Walked by Night was released by Eagle-Lion Films and is notable for the camera work by renowned noir cinematographer John Alton. Today the film is in public domain. On a Los Angeles street, Officer Hollis, a patrolman on his way home from work, stops a man he suspects of being a burglar and is shot and mortally wounded. The minor clues lead nowhere.
