	古代ローマ時代の海港都市オスティアにおける交易組合所跡  古代ローマ時代においてオスティアが繁栄した理由は、この海港都市がローマと属州とが海を通じた交易活動・穀物供給を実践して行く上での中継地（玄関）であったからである。 アウグストゥス帝によって確立された「ローマの平和」（pax romana）の下、属州各地からやってくる交易人組合はしばしばその足跡をオスティアに残して行く。例えば、各々の組合所に敷き詰められたモザイクの形で．．． ナルボネンシス（南仏）や北アフリカ等、地中海沿岸の属州各地から穀物や象牙を売買する為にオスティアへと寄港した交易人は、それぞれの出身地の組合所で手続きを行なうなど様々な業務をこなしていた。また、こうした組合所は様々な意見交換の場でもあった。 こうした組合所は、都市の中心部に位置する円形劇場の裏手に建設された豊穣と穀物の神ケレス神殿を取り囲む形で設置されていた。 オスティアに残るモザイク画は、古代ローマ時代の繁栄を偲ぶ最良の遺物である。 2010年11月07日再生回数 123
