This video documents the lives of American Soldiers in Vietnam and it is only fitting that it is dedicated to them. I am not discriminating against anyone here. I feel that the war was started under the best intentions yet ended up to be all wrong. American Soldiers came home and were treated as villians when in reality they were just doing their jobs. And I think all who did their job in Vietnam was a hero. However, I have the upmost sympathy for the Vietnamese citizens who had to endure years of chaos and death. And I really respect their courage and dedication to their beliefs, and that is why the USA lost in Vietnam. It wasn't all because of the Anti-War movement. There are Anti-War movements during all wars. Don't get me wrong the Vietnam Era Anti-War movement did effect the outcome, but it did not spell the definite end. Particularly the classics of Phan Thị Kim Phúc running down the street after being burned by napalm, the burning monk, and the man with the gun and guitar. At the time I made this it was just a project, but after having received comments on this post from veterans and seeing my mom cry as she watched it (and receiving a 100 grade to boot) it certainly means more to me than that. It's two years later and I feel much differently about this video than I did then. The song itself has changed for me. I can't listen to it without seeing the images I saw while looking for war pictures. For the record...though I realize war is necessary sometimes, I am generally a pacifist, and I am as sympathetic towards the Vietnamese soldiers as I am towards American ones. 2007年05月24日再生回数 48121 |
