 | POET BILLY LAMONT PERFOMS FOR JUBILEE 2000 AT THE KNITTING FACTORY, 2/26/00 The Other Perspective Video Clip #25: Poet Billy Lamont and The Electric Church perform "Eulogy: Flowers For The Living" for a Jubilee 2000 benefit at the Knitting Factory on March 26, 2000. Lamont organized this benefit for Jubilee 2000 Drop The Debt with Jubilee co-founder Seydina A. Senghor just prior to Jubilee's first national mobilization on Washington DC Jubilee 2000 gathered the world's biggest petition ever in support of getting impovershed nations a debt-free start. Billy Lamont and The Electric Church featured songwriter Bill Poulos on guitar and the band name morphed into billy lamont with the remission soon after. Lamont's close personal friend the late Larry Norman was the headliner for this show. Norman was producing a CD for Lamont on Norman's legendary Solid Rock Records and they had a recording session with Norman the day after this gig. Norman's health failed a few months later so the CD was never completed and Norman misplaced the tape so the recording session was never heard by Lamont or completed by Norman.
