 | DD51形ディーゼル機関車 機関始動
JR山陰本線 米子駅で、既に工事列車として組成され、先頭に連結された状態のDD51形ディーゼル機関車の機関始動と仕業検査の模様です。 運転士は、出発の１時間ほど前から機関車の点検を行い起動。 その後、エンジンやトルクコンバーターの点検、台車まわりの点検、燈火の点灯試験やレンズの清拭など、機関車を安全に運転するためのチェックをします。 編成の留置場所が、米子駅5番のりばに隣接する米子運転所1番線で、ホームの照明が充分に届く範囲だったため、普段なかなか目にすることができないプロフェッショナルの業をじっくり見学することができました。 今回の運用に充当されたDD51 1186は、DD51 500番台の完全重連タイプでB寒冷地仕様車。 かつて寝台特急「出雲」を牽引していた花形機で、後藤総合車輌所の所属であるのに「米子機関区」の区名札〔米〕が掲げられていました。 本作の冒頭は夕暮れ時の米子駅の風景から始まりますが、仕業検査は21時を過ぎてから始まっているため、暗視野での撮影となってしまい、細かいノイズがあったり色の再現性に問題があったりします。何とぞご容赦ください。 2010.6.19 JR山陰本線 米子駅・米子運転所
