	Serena is a Mermaid  セレナはワシントン条約で絶滅危惧種に指定されている哺乳類のジュゴンの女の子です。ジュゴンはフィリピン共和国にある有名な観光地パラワン島近海にまだわずかに生息しています。又、オーストラリアでは推定八万頭生息していると言われていますが、沖縄にはほんのわずかしかジュゴンは生息していません。ハンスクリスチャンアンデルセンの童話「人形姫」はアンデルセンが船乗りたちが見たジュゴンの話からインスピレーションを得て作られたといわれています。 一九八六年、セレナちゃんは生まれたばかりの赤ちゃんの時、母親から離れ離れになってパラワン近海でひとりでいるのが発見されました。ジュゴンの乳児がひとりで発見されたのはパラワン島の人々にとって歴史上初めての出来事で、彼らはどうやって小さな命を救えるか途方に暮れていました。 生死が危ぶまれる中、当時のアキノ大統領の知るところとなりました。大統領は日本の鳥羽水族館にセレナの引き取りを要請し、ベビーセレナの命をたくしたのです。セレナは鳥羽水族館のチャーターした特別機に乗り、水族館の人々につきそわれて日本にやって来ました。 そして今年セレナは２３歳になりました。２３歳のセレナの誕生日を祝って歌が出来ました。 For those interested, you can contact us thru email at serenaisamermaid@gmail.com 2009年05月08日再生回数 1355
