It's based on the Greek myth of Medusa. Medusa started her life as an ordinary woman before she was cursed by the jealous goddess Athena due to her beauty. Medusa's cursed form was half human, half serpent. Her head was crowned with venomous snakes and her eyes turned any man to stone if they beheld her gaze. She was banished to a cavern on the edge of the world. Not content, Athena sent many 'heroes' into Medusa's lair in attempt to slay her once and for all. I want to depict her as a strong character, fighting for her survival against a tide of assassins. Brushes & Colour Wheel - Download via my website. 	Zach Fair drawn by MyaWho  WOW hey, been a while! ^_^ Sorry about the month and a half or more of not making one of my traditional speed drawing videos... but I've been working on show choir at school and playing Kingdom Hears Birth By Sleep, and reading Ouran High School Host Club, and finishing Final Fantasy XIII... yea and i procrastinated a bit.... So im trying to make up for the lost time in this BIG portrait of a character that most of you love. And I also wanted to make up for the video's I have uploaded that are blocked to my subscribers over seas. I've had a little bit of copy right issues with my videos so from now on Ill try to keep everything in my videos completely original. I drew this on poster board, I used a mechanical pencil and a Dixon Ticonderoga (all the materials you would find in a 2nd grader's pencil box). The music was made by my friend Corey Rinebold. He wants to mix and produce music so I offered him to make the music in this video. 	Speed Painting - horse portrait in pastel (Billy)  A time lapse film of my painting of Billy, a stunning chestnut horse. I made it using pastel pencils on sanded paper (Fisher 400). This was a commission for Billy's owners, and the painting is about 14x10". I hope you enjoy watching. To answer the FAQs that I usually get: I don't use water or any fluids. The background is in soft pastel sticks, the 'brush' looking thing I use on it at the start is a silicon 'colour shaper' tool: it blends the colours. The horse is done entirely with pastel pencils. Mostly I use Faber Castell & Schwann CarbOthello. I used to use Derwent, but have had quality issues so I've stopped using them and cannot recommend them. The stick you can see some of the time is a Mahl stick, as used by signwriters. It's just to lean my hand on without smudging the work. I do sell my work and take portrait commissions in the UK (it's my living, so please don't ask for freebies!), more about that on my website for anyone interested. 	IllustStudio coloring.  I was drawing a pic today and decided to record a bit as I was coloring (it's speeded up 400%). You can't see the whole process, but you can see the finished pic at the end. The reason why I color stuff very dark first is to be able to check uncolored pixels (as you can see in her hair).
