Practice for locality and non-locality of stripes (derived from diffraction of lights ) Minoru sato m/s,SASW Some state which is a periodic pattern - ie repeat of similar shapes and so on, is called stripes. One question arises. Each stripe is independent from the other? Or a stripe is derived from the different of tint/density of an object? At least when we find stripes, then we try to identify each stripe. This indicates our consciousness is working on separation of thing/stripe and the background/stripes, in order to obtain a viewpoint. The famous periodic phenomenon in nature is a wave/vibration phenomenon. Also light has a nature as wave too. Rainbow is familiar stripes derived from the wave nature of light. It appears when sunlight diffracts by raindrops/molecular. And, the seven colors of rainbow emerge from the difference from diffraction of frequencies. Thus we see the stripe of rainbow as a difference of vague tint. On the other hand, when a laser light which has a specific frequency diffracts, the light becomes several light-rays. The rays are due to the extreme tint as stripes. We no longer see them as tint, these are certain independent rays.
