This song is listed in Teresa Teng's Golden Tripod Series 2 Number 4 (re-mastered in 2006), originally recorded in 1971. 安平追想曲"Anping Memories" reflects the sadness of a young woman born out of wedlock, thinking of her Dutch lover while remembering a similar fate of her mother with a Dutch lover who had abandoned her. The song was composed by a song writer in south of Taiwan in 1951 although the story was about that ill-fated romance happened around the end of the 19th century in the City of Anping , as the city then was opened to foreign trades after the signing of the Treaty of Tianjin天津條約in 1858 by the Qing Dynasty with Great Britain, USA, France and Russia after the Second Opium War . The golden hair of the young lady is from the blood of her Dutch father, a Christian, who has given the young lady's mother a golden cross as a souvenir. This Min-nan song is considered the classic of the classics among Min-nan songs, and is most popular for the older generation of locals. Many artists have sung this song.
