 | Gosei Sentai Dairanger Chogokin Ryuranger ダイレンジャー 超合金 リュウレンジャー It's been awhile since i've reviewed one of these. Welcome to my review of the Chogokin Ryuranger. Kakuranger marked the last series to have a line of die cast Chogokin figures since Goranger in 1975. Starting with Dairanger, the Chogokin figures began to suffer in quality. More on that later... This figure comes with two accessories. It comes with a Star Sword [スターソード] and a Star Cutter [スターカッター]. It would've been nice if it also included a Daibuster [ダイバスター], but this was not to be I guess. The figure itself is a decent likeness. The head sculpt could've used a little more work. The problem, I guess, was that there was a lot of detail to fit into a little space. This could've been remedied by a more shapely head mold. It seems that the same head mold was reused from series to series. The consistency is nice, but it takes away from accuracy. The big complaint with this and the other Dairanger figures is that it is barely die cast. The thighs and biceps are made of mismatched colored plastic. So essentially only a figure needs a die cast chest in order to be considered a Chogokin figure by Bandai. Very weak... Also, the gold paint seems to wear off much too easily. You can see this in the video. My figure has never been played with, yet the paint is worn considerably due to age. As the Dairanger suits were never used in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, these figures were not released in America. DX 超合金 ライブロボLiveman was in many ways one of the most influential Sentai series of the 80s. It employed many innovative hooks into it's plot and designs that are now considered commonplace. The biggest has to be this very thing: Liverobo! Liverobo is the first animal based mecha to be used in Sentai. Sure Battle Fever J had Battle Shark and Denjiman has Denji Tiger...did they look even close to animals though? Liverobo is made up of three mecha: 1. Jet Falcon 2. Land Lion 3. Aqua Dolphin 1. ジェットファルコン2. ランドライオン3. アクアドルフィンAll three combine to form Liverobo when the command is given (合体! ライブディメンション! Gattai! Live Dimension!). Liverobo comes with an assortment of accessories. The Chojuken (超獣剣) is a very nicely designed sword. Also included is the Live Shield (ライブシールド) which is actually part of Jet Falcon and the Double Cannons (ダブルカノン) which are attached to the top of Land Lion. Red missiles are included for the Double Cannons (I had to use Yellow missiles from the Twin Brace in the video) and special Red Twin Missiles are included with Aqua Dolphin (I don't have these missiles). Also included are little Bolt Cardboard Cutouts to fire Missiles at. This toy holds up very well against modern toy mecha. Not only is it very nicely designed, but incredibly well made.  | Seiju Sentai Gingaman Chogokin Gingaioh 星獣戦隊ギンガマン 超合金 ギンガイオー PLEASE DO NOT MAKE MECHA REQUESTS!!! I will make videos of what I feel like! -------------------- DX Chogokin Gingaioh! DX 超合金 ギンガイオーIt was long overdue... This is the glorious return to Chogokin mecha after a seven year absence. It sure did come back in a big, bad way! DX Chogokin Gingaioh is by far the heaviest mecha out there. You might think those giant 12 piece cluster mecha are heavy, and you're right. Gingaioh is just five pieces of solid Chogokin goodness. Gingaioh itself relies on a concept that was far from being unique at this point: animals. It is made up of five Seiju [星獣]... 1. Gingaleon 2. Gingalcon 3. Gingarilla 4. Gingaverick 5. Gingat 1. ギンガレオン2. ギンガルコン3. ギンガリラ4. ギンガベリック5. ギンガットAll five combine when the command "Seiju Gattai!" [星獣合体] is given. Gingaioh doesn't come with much in the way of accessories. Included is the Gingaiken [銀鎧剣] and Gingalcon can transform into the Galcon Bowgun [ガルコンボーガン]. I have to say, this is pure Chogokin goodness. Looking beyond the metal, the design is a bit lacking. Gingaioh is guilty of being...ummm...substance over style[?] I think. The design really lacks a degree of detail that I think Bandai was trying to justify with a ton of metal and a VERY nice paintjob. Take all the good stuff away and we're left with a Volvo-esque mecha, just a blocky toy. This isn't entirely Bandai's fault, Gingaioh was kind of blocky in the series as well.
