皈依西方十六觀門讚皈依西方十六觀門日輪懸鼓暮西沉水結琉璃寶地一掌平七重行樹八德蓮池寶相巍巍放光明無量壽佛勢至觀音五色蓮花五車輪丈六金身顯法身下品蓮台托質化身中品羅漢辟支佛乘上品菩薩十地門一生補處妙覺圓明圓覺無證悟修心同圓種智法界真西方教主我等慈尊九蓮台畔度眾生大慈彌陀佛大悲菩薩僧接引眾生上品上生.......................... 此經的內容，是敘述王舍城內阿闍世太子，聽信提婆達多的惡言，將其父頻婆娑羅王幽閉於七重室內，欲令餓死；後來又將母幽閉于深宮，不令出外。這時韋提希憂愁憔悴，遙禮耆闍崛山向佛祈禱，佛和目犍連、阿難現身于王宮內，時韋提希願欲往生阿彌陀佛極樂世界，佛即在宮內為她宣說三福、十六觀的往生法門。韋提希聞佛說後，歡喜悟解，得無生忍。此中所說的三福、十六觀，即是往生淨土的修行方法。 三福是： 一、世福（孝親、敬師、戒殺、修十善業）， 二、戒福（受持三皈、淨戒並護威儀）， 三、行福（發菩提心、深信因果、誦大乘經並勸他行）。 這三種福業，又稱為淨業正因，是往生淨土的基本條件。 淨土十六觀：出自觀無量壽經。又作十六觀法、十六想觀、十六妙觀、十六正觀、十六觀門。念佛行者由憶念彌陀之身與淨土，得以往生西方，總其觀行有十六種。即： (一)日想觀，又作日觀、日想。正坐西向，諦觀於日，令心堅住，專想不移。見日欲沒，狀如懸鼓，既見日已，開目閉目皆令明了。 (二)水想觀，又作水觀、水想。初見西方一切皆是大水，再起冰想，見冰映徹，作琉璃想。 (三)地想觀，又作地觀、琉璃地觀、地想。觀想下有金剛七寶金幢擎琉璃地，地上以黃金繩雜廁間錯，一一寶各有五百色光等。 (四)寶樹觀，又作樹觀、樹想。觀極樂國土有七重行樹，七寶花葉無不具足，一一花葉作異寶色，又一一樹上有七重網。 (五)寶池觀，又作八功德水想、池觀。觀想極樂有八功德水 ...
