 | とうぼく窯・窯焚き 穴窯で焼くということ薪だけで5日間、炎と向き合った窯の中の写真です。 この5日間は寝ずの番。絶えず薪をくべないとすぐに火の温度は下がってくる。その間隔、約7-8分。重く分厚い鉄扉を開けたり閉めたり。顔は炎で真っ赤になり、徹夜続きで疲労こんぱいし、もうろうとしながらも緊張する作業。 「火の温度を下げてはならない...」 焼き始めて約72時間、窯の温度も摂氏1000度を越してくると煙突よりものすごい勢いで火柱が立ってくる。その瞬間感じる「炎」への畏怖の念と崇高さ。 鉄扉を開けるとあまりの温度の高さに炎は白く変化し、向こうに作品の棚が透けて見えてくる。薪は灰になり、灰は巻き上がり作品に付き、そして作品がまとった灰が溶けだし、それがなんとも表現しがたい「侘び」「さび」の世界を醸し出してくれる。 実にその温度、1250度。 2010年10月31日再生回数 213 |
