	日本最古のダム式ため池 狭山池 古事記 日本書紀  狭山池（さやまいけ）とは、大阪府大阪狭山市にある日本最古のダム式ため池である。 7世紀前半に築造されたとされ、『古事記』・『日本書紀』にもその名が記されている。各時代で幾度となく改修が重ねられ、近年のダム工事（平成の大改修）でダム化するとともに、池の周囲は公園として整備された。また、以前の狭山池の保存と公開を目的とした大阪府立狭山池博物館が池の北側に2001年に開館した。 狭山池土地改良区（水土里ネット狭山池）が維持管理している。 位置 [編集] * 大阪府大阪狭山市の中心部。南海高野線大阪狭山市駅から西へ徒歩約10分。 概要・歴史 [編集] * 石川や大和川といった水量の豊富な河川から外れる河内国西部の丘陵地帯は、水量に乏しく灌漑に苦労を強いられていた。しかし、飛鳥時代前期、朝廷によって天野川と今熊川が堰き止められ狭山池が築造されると、下流地域に用水路を作り、平均的な水の確保ができるようになった。1704年（宝永元年）の大和川の付け替えまで、現在の大阪市域に至る80か村、約55000石を灌漑。 * 樋や堤体の構造は1988年に詳しく調査され、東樋の年輪年代測定結果から、7世紀前半につくられた日本最古のため池であることがわかる。また堤体の盛り土が幾層にも積まれ、その1部に植物層を含む層があることが判明し中国や朝鮮から伝わった敷葉工法（しきはこうほう／葉のついた枝を土留めに使う工法）が用いられていることがわかった。 * 『日本書紀』の記述―崇神天皇62年7月2日の条 o 「農は天下の大本なり。...今、河内の狭山の植田水少なし。是を以て其の国の百姓、農のことを怠る。其れ多に池溝を開きて民業を寛かにせよ」 * 『古事記』の記述―垂仁天皇の段 o 「印色入日子命（編者注；垂仁天皇の皇子）、血沼池又狭山池を作る」 * 『枕草子』に狭山池について ... 2011年02月05日再生回数 822
