 | 【藤井厳喜】ウォールストリートを占拠せよ①アメリカの失業と格差がAJER 《ウォールストリートを占拠せよ①アメリカの失業と格差が生み出した抗議運動》 藤井厳喜（政治学者） 2011年10月6日出演① 世界の金融の中心地、NYのウォールストリートで、「Occupy Wall Street ：ウォールストリートを占拠せよ」という抗議運動が9月17日から開始された。 これは一体、どのような社会運動なのだろうか。 カレ・ラースンというカナダ人ジャーナリストの呼びかけで始まったこの運動は、全米各地へ波及し、大きな社会的衝撃を与えています。 「Occupy Wall Street」は、自然発生的な社会抗議運動で、その攻撃対象は、大銀行、大企業そしてアメリカ政府です。 彼らの主張は多岐に及ぶが、主に次の３点に絞られると言ってよいだろう。 第1は、大量失業を前提に、雇用を増やせ、という要求である。 第2は、金融バブルを起こし、崩壊させ、アメリカの勤労者を苦しめている大銀行を規制せよ、という要求である。 第3に、貧富の格差が極端に拡大しつつあるアメリカにおいて、貧富の格差を是正せよ、という要求である。 アメリカ時間10月5日現在、ズコッティー公園を中心とする「Occupy Wall Street運動」には、2万人以上が参加しており、更に全米56都市にまで、この運動が波及し、同様の運動が展開されている。 Occupy Wall Streetは、きわめて自然発生的な大衆運動であるが、その発生と拡大を支えているのは、以下のような背景である。 ① 大量失業時代 ② オバマ大統領への失望③ 社会格差の拡大 ： 共和党政権ばかりではなく、既にクリントン政権の時代から大企業優遇、勤労大衆切り捨ての経済政策が取られてきた。 好況の時には目立たなかった社会格差の拡大が不況期になり、誰の目にも明らかになってきている。 ④ FacebookなどのSNSの普及と利用。 一方、イギリス暴動への反省もOccupy Wall ... 2011年10月06日再生回数 4190 |
 | 【藤井厳喜】ウォールストリートを占拠せよ②キーワード我々は99％だAJER 《ウォールストリートを占拠せよ②キーワードは「我々は99％だ」》 藤井厳喜（政治学者） 2011年10月6日出演② Occupy Wall Street運動のキーワードは、「We are the 99%（我々が99％だ）」というものです。 1％の富裕層が富を独占し、99％の国民が苦しんでいるというメッセージです。 実際、所得においては、アメリカ社会の富裕層上位1％の人々が、所得全体の20％超を手にしています。 又、資産においては、上位10％の人々が、アメリカの全資産の90％を保有しています。 更にＯＥＣＤが今年2011年に行った調査によれば、現在のアメリカにおいては、6人に1人が貧困層です。 貧富の格差は、先進国の中においても、特に顕著なものになっています。 Occupy Wall Street を単なる底辺の失業者達の運動であると見るのは、明らかに誤りです。 今回の運動は、若年層を中心に行われていますが、4年生大学の卒業者は勿論、MBAや弁護士資格を持った者、更にＩＴ技術者などもこの運動に参加しています。 このようなプロフェッショナル階級にも失業は確実に拡がっており、アメリカではMBAや弁護士資格を持ったホームレスも必ずしも珍しくはありません。 技術を持ち、勤労意欲も旺盛な人々が、雇用にありつけないというのが、現在のアメリカの問題点なのです。 Occupy Wall Street は、未組織の大衆から生まれた自発的な抗議運動ですが、明らかにアメリカの左派＝リベラル派からの現状に対する異議申し立て運動です。 アメリカ社会の貧困化と格差拡大に直面して、右派＝保守派からはTeaParty運動が生まれてきました。 アメリカは、自由経済・市場経済のメッカであるように、世界から受け取られ、アメリカ人も度々そのように主張していますが、現実は全くそうではありません。 政府は大企業、大銀行に対して、著しい優遇策を ... 2011年10月07日再生回数 3281 |

 | State of the Union Address: Speech by President Clinton (1995) thefilmarchive.org The 1995 State of the Union address was given by President Bill Clinton to a joint session of the 104th United States Congress on January 24, 1995. This was the first speech delivered to a Republican-controlled Congress since 1954. This was also the first time a Republican Speaker sat in the chair since 1954. The Speaker was Newt Gingrich of Georgia. The president discussed his proposals of a New Covenant vision for a smaller government and proposing tax reductions. The president also discussed crime, the Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban, illegal immigration, and the minimum wage. Regarding foreign policy, he urged assistance in Mexico's economic crisis, additional disarmament in cooperation with Russia and other international treaties, stopping North Korea's nuclear weapons program, legislation to fight terrorists, and peace between Israel and its neighbors. Discussion of the failed attempt to overhaul health care was refocused on more limited efforts to protect coverage for those who have health insurance and expand coverage for children. The speech lasted nearly 1 hour and 25 minutes and consisted of 9190 words. In terms of word count it is the longest State of the Union speech in history. The president acknowledged many Americans of past and present in his speech.
