Personal Responsibility, Compassion, Service to OthersPersonal Responsibility, Compassion, Service to Others
What does it take to create harmony, rather than conflict; to create cooperation instead of competition? What are the realizations that will transform a person's attitude from selfishness to service? What is so powerful that it is considered by all major religions as among the greatest virtues that you can practice? In this talk Harry provides insights and illustrations as to the importance of personal responsibility, compassion, and service to others. He discusses the spiritual awakening and changes you can expect from your Avatar experience. He reflects on the realizations that begin as you move from self-awareness into the power of self-acceptance. He also reveals the secret to conserving natural resources. Harry explains how the qualities of personal responsibility, compassion, and service to others measure a society's, or individual's, move toward greater happiness. This talk was recorded live at The 2009 Avatar Professional Course in Orlando, Florida.

Free Trip to Hawaii: The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show - Season 3, Episode 1 (1952)Free Trip to Hawaii: The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show - Season 3, Episode 1 (1952)
DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org Elvia Allman (September 19, 1904; Enochville, North Carolina -- March 6, 1992; Santa Monica, California) was a character actress and voice over performer in Hollywood films and television programs for over 50 years. She is best remembered for her semi-regular roles on The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction and for being the voice of Walt Disney's Clarabelle Cow. Her mark in TV history is also insured by her memorable performance as the stern, no-nonsense boss in the classic I Love Lucy "Candy Factory" episode, "Job Switching" ("If one piece of candy goes by on the conveyor belt without being wrapped, you're fired!). Allman began her radio career in early 1926 at KHJ in Los Angeles as a programme arranger and children's story reader, and later as a singer. The Los Angeles Times of the day praises her abilities as a dialectician. It was there she met her first husband, musician Wesley B. Tourtellotte, in 1930. They divorced within several years. New York beckoned in 1933, where she did a 15-minute network programme of songs. On Oct. 30, 1933, the Times announced she was moving to KNX on a 15-minute programme to be heard Tuesdays and Thursday evenings. What was supposed to be a long-term contract ended March 3, 1935. Allman's first big network radio success was on the Blue Monday Jamboree where she portrated beauty expert Auntie MacCasser, high society matron Octavia Smith-Whiffen, and home economist Pansy Pennypincher. She made ...

Helping Military Spouses Transfer Professional Licenses Across States: Supporting Employment (2012)Helping Military Spouses Transfer Professional Licenses Across States: Supporting Employment (2012)
thefilmarchive.org February 15, 2012 Military dependents are the spouse(s), children, and possibly other familial relationship categories of a sponsoring military member for purposes of pay as well as special benefits, privileges and rights. This generic category is enumerated in great detail for US military members. The term "Military Brat" is also commonly used in military culture to mean a military dependent that is either a child or a teenager. The term is not an insult but carries connotations of respect and affection. Currently the US Department of Defense estimates that there are approximately 15 million individuals in the United States that are current or former military brats. It is also used in research studies. It also refers to the subculture of American military brats. The Department of Veteran Affairs offers educational assistance to some spouses or child dependents. In order to receive the educational assistance, the service-member must (1) have died due to a service-related disability, (2) be missing in action for more than 90 days, or (3) be hospitalized with debilitating injuries. Surviving spouses cannot use the educational assistance if they remarry before the age of 57, and or if they do not use the assistance within 10 years of their date of eligibility. Children must use their educational assistance between the ages of 18 and 26. The VA provides $936 per month to eligible dependents if they are enrolled in a full-time educational program. Several ...

First Spaceship on Venus: Yoko Tani, Günther Simon, Lucyna Winnicka (1962 Movie)First Spaceship on Venus: Yoko Tani, Günther Simon, Lucyna Winnicka (1962 Movie)
DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org First Spaceship on Venus, German: Der schweigende Stern (en: The Silent Star), Polish: Milcząca Gwiazda, is a 1960 East German/Polish film directed by Kurt Maetzig and based on the novel The Astronauts by Stanisław Lem. The film is also known as Planet of the Dead, Silent Star and Spaceship Venus Does Not Reply A much shortened 1962 Crown International Pictures English dubbed release in the USA used the name First Spaceship on Venus where it was double billed with Varan the Unbelievable. Lem disowned the movie.[citation needed] First Spaceship on Venus was featured in episodes of both Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Cinema Insomnia. The film begins in 1985, when engineers involved in an industrial project to irrigate the Gobi Desert accidentally unearth a mysterious and apparently artificial "spool." When found to be made of a material unknown on Earth, the spool is circumstantially linked to the Tunguska explosion of 1908. The "spool" is seized on as evidence that the explosion, originally blamed on a meteor, was actually caused by a spaceship. Professor Harringway deduces the alien craft must have come from {[Venus]]. The spool itself is determined to be a flight recorder, and partially decoded by an international team of scientists led by Professor Sikarna and Dr. Tchen Yu. When radio greetings sent to Venus go unanswered, Harringway announces that a journey to Venus is Earth's only alternative. The recently-completed Cosmokrator ...

thefilmarchive.org DVD: www.amazon.com Frank Emmons Overton (March 12, 1918 -- April 24, 1967) was an American actor. Overton appeared in numerous television programs during the early 1950s and through the late 1960s, including The Fugitive (TV series) in 1963. In his role as General Bogan in the film Fail-Safe (1964), Overton appeared in a famous scene where he makes small talk over a secure communications unit with his Soviet counterpart while thumbing through the man's dossier. The Fugitive Overton played Major Stovall in the TV series Twelve O'Clock High, and also had a major role in the movie Wild River, where he appears as the jilted fiance of Lee Remick. His last TV role was that of "Elias Sandoval" in Star Trek's "This Side of Paradise", which originally aired in March 1967 just one month before his sudden death, at age 49. Screenwriter William Bast was one of Dean's closest friends, a fact acknowledged by Dean's family. According to Dean's first biographer (1956), Bast was his roommate at UCLA and later in New York, and knew Dean throughout the last five years of his life. Fifty years after Dean's death, he stated that their friendship had included some sexual intimacy. Early in Dean's career, after Dean signed his contract with Warner Brothers, the studio's public relations department began generating stories about Dean's liaisons with a variety of young actresses who were mostly drawn from the clientele of Dean's Hollywood agent, Dick Clayton. Studio press ...
