レッドテールキャットが、エロモナス病に罹ってしまったので、エロモナス菌に効くといわれているココア浴をしているところです。 エロモナス菌は普段水槽環境の至る場所にいる常在菌なのですが、水質の悪化や栄養不足また傷口からの侵入など、魚が弱っているときに一度感染すると非常に危険な菌です。 レッドテールキャットが、エロモナス菌に感染すると初期症状はその毒素によって、細胞が破壊され口の周りが内出血により赤い痣(赤斑)が現れます。また、症状が進行すると次第に赤斑は全身に広がり、ヒレやヒゲが解け始めボロボロになり、呼吸が荒くなり、腹部膨張や眼球突出または皮膚が腫れることにより眼球陥没が起こり、平衡感覚を失って上手く泳ぐことが出来なくなったり、衰弱して死亡し、かなり致死率が高い病気です。とにかく、この病気の治療の鍵は、口の周りの赤いただれが現れたら、すぐにでも治療を始めることが大事です。 口の周りを中心に全身に赤斑が現れ、ココア浴を始めてから約二週間が経ちました。現在は、大分赤斑も治まりましたが、まだ口の中が赤いですし、腹側部にも若干の赤斑が残っていますし、魚体が大きいため体の中にはまだ菌がいるので、ココアを薄めるとすぐに再発してしまいますから、完全に菌が死滅するまであと二週間くらいはココア浴を続けようと思います。 【私の行っているココア浴の方法】 ①ココア浴をする水槽を用意し、飼育水と病魚を移します。 ②ココア浴中にココアを拡散する目的と魚が酸欠にならないように強めのエアレーションをします。 ③砂糖などの不純物が一切入っていない純ココアを用意し、バケツやカップなどの別容器ににぬるま湯を入れ、ココアを溶かします。用量は、水200ℓに対し大さじ１～1.5杯ほどの濃度です。※ココアには脂肪分が多く含まれるため ...
