	Readings for Japanese characters  Introduction to the different readings of characters used in Japanese. Japanese characters use basically 2 readings, ie, Japanese readings to the Chinese characters and readings based on Chinese from 3 different periods: Go'on (readings brough from China from the 4th to the 6th century), Kan'on (readings brought after the 7th century) and Tou'on (readings brought from the Heian period(794〜) to the Meiji period (〜1912). Words used in the video: 明星(myoujou: Venus), 明治(meiji: meiji period), 明国(minkoku: Ming Dynasty). 呉音(go'on: go reading.
