Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth 1967Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth 1967
Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth, (1967, Bandstand, el Hollywood Palace, Smothers Brothers). (Sorry, video advertising is a matter of youtube, I have nothing to do.) Buffalo Springfield was a rock group that served as a springboard for the careers of Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Jim Messina, two of whom played in rock, pop, folk, country and acoustic group Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young later in their career. Buffalo Springfield is best known for the song "For What It's Worth". After the band's formation in April 1966, a series of disruptions, including infighting and the pressure of working in the music industry, resulted in constant changes in the group's lineup and ultimately culminated in the group's disbanding after roughly 25 months. Buffalo Springfield released a total of three albums but left many demo recordings, studio outtakes and live recordings, as well as a reputation for excellent personnel and high band dysfunction.[1] Despite the band's short tenure and relatively limited output it was one of the most influential bands of the 1960s, with virtually all members going on to successful careers and with two (Stills and Young) reaching the top of rock stardom. 1967 Arab-Israeli War - part 1/61967 Arab-Israeli War - part 1/6
The Six-Day War, also known as the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, the Third Arab-Israeli War, Six Days' War, an‑Naksah (The Setback), or the June War, was fought between Israel and Arab neighbors Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. The nations of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria also contributed troops and arms to the Arab forces. In May 1967, Egypt's president Nasser expelled the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) from the Sinai Peninsula. The peacekeeping force had been stationed there since 1957, following a British-French-Israeli invasion which was launched during the Suez Crisis. Egypt amassed 1000 tanks and nearly 100000 soldiers on the border and closed the Straits of Tiran to all ships flying Israeli flags or carrying strategic materials, receiving strong support from other Arab countries. On June 5, 1967, Israel launched a pre-emptive attack against Egypt's airforce. Jordan, which had signed a mutual defence treaty with Egypt on May 30, then attacked western Jerusalem and Netanya. At the war's end, Israel had gained control of the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. The results of the war affect the geopolitics of the region to this day. Source: Wikipedia

The Young Rascals - Groovin' 1967The Young Rascals - Groovin' 1967
Eddie Brigati (vocals), Felix Cavaliere (keyboard, vocals), Gene Cornish (guitar) and Dino Danelli (drums) started the band in New Jersey. Their first two singles were covers, but after that the band's songwriting team of Brigati and Cavaliere began providing most of their songs, and the hits kept coming for the next two years. "I've Been Lonely Too Long" & "You Better Run", were only modest hits, but "Groovin'" (#1 US/Canada, 1967) put them at the top of the charts on both sides of the pond. The song was very different from the Rascals' normal style, enough so that Atlantic Records head Jerry Wexler did not actually want to release it. It was the only hit the Rascals had in the UK. The Young Rascals were particularly popular in the second half of the '60's and the band's influence on aspiring white R&B acts was without equal. Many groups attempted to capture the Rascals' attitude and energy. Vanilla Fudge, the epitome of over-the-top funky psychedelia, among many others, owed much to the Rascals'.
