The Ralliart is powered by a new 2.0-liter DOHC MIVEC intercooled and turbocharged engine that delivers an estimated 237 horsepower, 253 lb-ft of torque. For 2010 the Lancer comes in three trim levels. The regular base Lancer sedan, the Ralliart and the Evolution X. The Ralliart has a few visual and performance features which make it a lot of fun to drive. The Lancer is most often compared to the Subaru WRX or STI and the Volkswagen GTI. The Lancer Ralliart's full-time 4WD (all wheel drive) driveline features Mitsubishi's Active Center Differential (ACD). The ACD unit employs an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch center differential, vectoring torque to the front and rear wheels according to different driving conditions. The Lancer EVO, is a performance legend to a certain set. The 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution has more sophisticated bones, track-honed components, and serious performance hardware that makes it capable of outperforming much more expensive sports cars. Essentially, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution looks like a tuner car--like an economy car on steroids--much more than it looks like exotic sports machine. An up-close look will probably elicit shrugs from those who don't get their performance potential. While the look is not all that special, there's a lot to love in the driving experience for this model. The Evolution packs a 291-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, The Evo's engine is peaky, with more turbo lag, and it delivers its power in frenzy at the top of the rev band. ![]() | Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Touring Car This is an original tuned model created by "Gran Turismo", based on the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR Premium Package (2007). The following is the description of the base model. The 4th generation platform Lancer Evolution was first announced at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show as the concept-X model. Changing direction from the factory tuning car character of its past, it now targeted a premium sports market like the BMW M series and Audi S series. The major difference from the 3 generations and a total of 12 types of Lancer Evo's orf the past, is the change of the engine from the 4G63 to the new generation 4B11. Its all aluminium construction and rearward exhaust make it difficult to turn into a high powered turbo, but engineers at Mitsubishi have overcome this challenge. The transmission is offered in a TC-SST 6 speed DCT in addition to the standard 5 speed MT. It is possible to shift quickly using paddles behind the steering wheel. The base transmission was developed by Getrag, and was tuned carefully for endurance and stable performance. The 4WD system has evolved into the S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) system, and it integrates the ACD (Active Center Differential) and Super AYC (Active Yaw Control), and even combines the ABS controls. With the addition of the ABS control, an even more effective control of drive force distribution has become possible.
