	P4A PROJECT FOR AWESOME: PAWS Animal Rescue  PAWS is a work in progress, we started out in Feb 1997 with the intention to rehome unwanted dogs from their current homes. However, we soon realised the huge amount of abuse, neglect and abandonment of dogs throughout the County and we started to give them shelter and veterinary care... News spread fast and soon we were dealing with cases from Cork and Kerry to Sligo and Donegal... Since that time PAWS, has rescued, vaccinated, neutered and rehomed thousands of dogs and as 70% of these were adults, our neutering programme has prevented millions of unwanted puppies being born and consequently dumped in ditches, dustbins and dog pounds. Sometimes we feel like 'giving up and giving in' but then somebody says a kind word or calls to visit, with a happy, healthy adored pet, which when it originally came in to our care was a quivering, ravenous, petrified mess. Days like those give you the strength to carry on that extra mile. As you may know, we at PAWS depend totally on the public to help us to keep our doors open to abandoned and abused animals. The National Lottery have thus far ignored pleas from Animal Welfare groups to grant aid our work and the Dept of Agriculture very kindly give a small grant each year to rescue centers Sadly, however, this covers only a minute portion of the running costs, which ran to over 300 thousand euro last year. 	Small MIDI Accordion.WMV  I like to play small accordions. Full size boxes are too big for me at this stage of my life. Frankly, they are much too heavy for my back. The MIDI accordions that I made myself reflect only my personal needs and desires. I also use Korg NX5R MIDI Sound Module, which is quite old but still works fine for me. I also use MIDI Yamaha MIDI keyboard that serves as the MIDI Sound Module. I used Cyber Link YouCam that is a permanent feature on my Laptop. This camera is the worst choice to make music recording, so my video is what could be done with such an equipment. I do not intend to spend extra money during this Great Recession to buy expensive items for the use in my entertainment. I made this video not to show my accordion skills. I pick up playing after 40 years of 40 years of forces abandonment of accordion to my work and family responsibilities. Playing accordion is the time of leisure, therefore, non-professional players have no time for practicing every day. In order to play well, on has to practice this instrument a few hours a day. I just want to spread the use of the MIDI media for the folks who are interested in doing own work and own MIDI accordion at very cheap price. Basically, it cost me only 1/3 of the total estimated price for price and programming advice to convert the acoustic accordion to the MIDI, therefore, doing your own projects is very beneficial now and in the future when the repairs might be needed. 	Medical Students and Seminarians to Learn More About Aging by Living With the Elderly  As Featured on Twin Cities Live on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2009. What do elders, seminarians and medical students have in common? This fall, they are all under the same roof. A new initiative designed to bring the generations together is enabling medical and seminary students to move into a senior housing facility at Augustana Apartments in Minneapolis. While medical students have visited residents at the apartments in previous years, the decision to live side by side with the older generation is a novel one. We continue to look for new ways to teach geriatrics, says Dr. Edward Ratner, associate professor of internal medicine at the University of Minnesota and medical director of Heartland Home Health Care in Roseville. Dr. Ratner began bringing students to Augustana in 2000 to give them practical experience with the unique needs of the elderly. Senior housing can be very segregated, says Dr. Ratner. At one time there were 65—95 year olds in a senior setting. Now the average age of those moving in is 80. A large fraction is frail, with little exposure to younger generations, and the potential for much loneliness. Many may lack a neighbor who can easily change a ceiling-light bulb. To remedy the older adults isolation and give them a chance to mentor a younger generation, Ratner proposed that medical students move to the Augustana Apartments to learn from and about their elderly neighbors. It has head-to-tail length of up to 140cm, a wingspan of up to two metres and a height of up to 140cms and can weigh 2.5 kg. The call is a harsh croak. The heron is most vocal during the breeding season, but will call occasionally at any time of the year in territorial disputes or if disturbed as here in this film. It is found throughout most of North America, as far north as Alaska and the southern Canadian provinces. The range extends south through Florida, Mexico and the Caribbean to South America. Birds east of the Rocky Mountains in the northern part of their range are migratory and winter in Central America or northern South America. From the southern United States southwards, and on the Pacific coast, they are year-round residents. However, individuals often remain through cold northern winters, as well. The primary food for the Blue Heron is small fish, though it is also known to opportunistically feed on a wide range of shrimp, crabs, aquatic insects, rodents and other small mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and small birds. At the time of this protest in front of Health Department and at the Philadelphia Health Commissioners (Carman Paris) Office Building, *Two Cases of Congenital Syphilis had been reported by the Philadelphia Record (confirmed by CDC Officials in Philadelphia).
