	Purdue University 2012 Nationals Rube Goldberg at Elliot Hall Unedited  WARNING * There is a steam whistle that is very loud!* This is Lauren, Purdue University's machine entered in the 2012 25th Anniversary National Rube Goldberg contest. They won 3 awards which were of the following: the Move Award for 'The Finger', Peoples' Choice Award, and 2nd Place. The goal of the contest was to inefficiently create a mechanism for a selected purpose which was to inflate and pop a balloon. Here, PSPE sets a Guinness World Record for most steps on a machine, without interventions, to complete a task. Last year, they set a record of 224, I think, steps. However, when I first purchased the Beretta, I spoke with the firearm dealer about how I was considering picking up a new set of grips for my Kimber SIS Pro 1911. My problem with the current grips is that they're so worn, they're smooth. I purchased the Kimber used, so I don't know for sure, but judging from the images of newer Kimber SIS models and the wear shown on mine, I think they might be the original grips. I like the look of the wood grain (I think it's a classic style, and I dig that), but I want something with a little bit of a bite to help my hold on the gun while I'm aiming. The man behind the counter asked what my preferences were. I love the rosewood diamond checkered grips that came with the Springfield M1911A1 loaded, so I asked if he had any similar. He showed me a set of cocobolo wood grips with diamond checkering and I loved them immediately, but I did ask if he had anything else comparable before I made my final selection. He showed me a fantastic set of diamond checkered carbon fiber 1911 grips, but as they were twice the price of the other pair, I had to decline. 	Shawn Lane - Get You Back & Guitar solo (Warfield Theatre, San Francisco - 19th Sept 1992)  Here Shawn Lane and the Powers of Ten Band play "Get You Back" followed by a drum & guitar solo, at the Warfield Theatre, San Francisco, on the 19th Sept 1992. This show was the 'World Premier' of Shawn's "Powers of Ten" music (with the exception of the song "Not Again", which Shawn had been playing live since the mid 80's, and "Illusions", which Shawn played at Six One Six in Memphis on the 13th Nov 1991, though he didn't play either of those tunes at this short show). This short PoT Band gig was part of the the 'Guitarist Magazine' 25th Anniversary show, and was right before the All Star Jam that took place there (where Shawn jammed with Frank Gambale, Steve Morse, Brad Gillis and more) from the same day, which i have also posted. I had already posted a version of this, but i managed to track down a better quality version of the show, so i've posted this upgraded version and removed the old one. 	CHEVELLE - Letter From a Thief, LIVE in Raleigh, NC! July 25, 2010 - Carnival of Madness  Chevelle is an American rock band from Illinois whose members consist of Pete Loeffler (lead singer, lead guitarist), Sam Loeffler (drummer), and Dean Bernardini (bass guitar player, backing vocalist). In this video, Chevelle plays "Letter From a Thief," their seventh song of the evening.
