 | Mikis Theodorakis ~ Sept Danses Grecques ~ Maurice Béjart: Leningrad 1984 (part 1) This is one of the "Sept Danses Grecques", composed by Mikis Theodorakis, and choreographed by Maurice Béjart.... In the introduction of the original film about this performance I read two names: Philippe Lizon and Michel Gascard. In the video response you can find the dance performed by Michel Gascard. He is also the one where this video ends with. That is for sure. My conclusion is that the dancer in this video here is Philippe Lizon. If you have information about Philippe Lizon: please send it to me, I could not find any information on internet about him. Sorry for writing a mistake in the intro of the video. I noticed it a while after uploading: the word "dancers" has been written as "dansers". Must have been because of using French and English titles..... Anyhow, in Dutch it is the right word..... :) Part 2: www.youtube.com Michel Gascard (part 2) was trained by his mother, Colette Milner, at the La Rochelle Conservatory in France. In 1973 at the age of 16, he won first prize at the 'Prix de Lausanne' international competition. He then went to the Mudra School in Brussels, directed by Maurice Béjart, where he studied for one year before joining the 'Ballet du XXième siècle' (Ballet of the 20th Century) company. He danced his first solo roles when he was 17 years old. Maurice Béjart created a role for him in the "Seven Greek Dances".......
