 | Brenda Marshall - Finding Values for Sustaining Change Brenda Marshall, Director of Evidence Based Practice, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Getting bedside nurses excited and engaged in evidence based critical decision making to support evidence based practice (EBP) and research ranks high among hospital priorities and challenges. Using "clicker technology" during the assessment phase of implementation, Dr. Marshall engaged nurses in a northern New Jersey community hospital in learning about EBP and research, while she learned about what motivated them to achieve their highest potential. The result was that the nurses have increased the number of EBP projects from 1 to 34 in less than a year, and the fire of inquiry has been ignited. 2011年06月24日再生回数 120

 | Laddie and the Ladies - WHISPERING SMITH (Excerpts) This movie from 1948 was AL's first color film as well as his first western. Having usually played cynical urban tough guys, there were some doubts whether he could make the transition. But he turned out to be perfectly suited for the genre, and the movie was a big hit, establishing him as a classic hero. Ladd plays a railroad cop, Robert Preston plays an old buddy who has 'gone bad'. Their conflict is complicated by their rivalry over a woman, played by Brenda Marshall (William Holden's wife, btw). Due to several similarities, the film is almost like a rehearsal for SHANE (1953). Leslie Fenton (who also directed AL's SAIGON that same year) did a very competent job, and the cinematography by Ray Rannahan as well as the music by Adolph Deutsch are gorgeous. There's a fun bit of dialogue in the film that aptly describes the character AL portrayed: Conductor: What's he like? First man: Well, he's sort of quiet and gentle-like. Preston: Till someone spits in his eye! Second man: Then he's like a rattler. Just naturally unwraps himself.
