 | Tips for Buying a Used CDMA (Verizon, Sprint) Cell Phone My video of Tips for Buying a Used CDMA (Verizon, Sprint) Cell Phone. So pretty much this video says a couple tips when buying a CDMA phone which are phones that don't use SIM Cards. GSM phones are phones that use SIM Card (T-Mobile, AT&T/Cingular) CDMA (Verizon, Sprint). So when buying best is to check ESN/MEID/HEX which are numbers and letters on the back of the phone behind the battery ranging from 8 - 17 letters and digits. What you want to do is call 611 on your phone and chose to talk with a representative (your name & last 4 digits of SS will be mostly required). Then give them the ESN/MEID/HEX and the will check it and let you know. After check of most primary functions are fully working on the phone. Also if you don't want to call or go online, just go to your local Verizon Wireless or Sprint store to let them check and activate right then and there. Account holder must be present though. You can also activate the phone by calling 611 also. Takes approx 5 - 15 Min. Or log onto My Verizon and you can also activate through there would take less time and be a less hassle.
