![]() | FOUR JAVELINAS RAIDING our PATIO TONIGHT: EXTREME CLOSE-UPS of COLLARED PECCARIES! A SUPER CLOSE-UP, super cool (if CHAOTIC) GOODBYE to the javelinas that have periodically visited us over the years ... in Tucson, Arizona. (See a javelina suddenly tune me in, as if for the first time, at the 4:30 mark in this video.) Contrary to what some people have thought, I filmed these four javelinas from just outside our wide-open patio door, without a blind, and without a zoom* lens: in fact, there were several instances (before I turned on the camera) when it seemed the javelinas might burst past me and into the house. *The Nikon P6000 camera's 4x zoom should NEVER be used on the video setting: this film is CRYSTAL CLEAR because I didn't use it, choosing instead to sit close enough to place the camera over the javelinas' heads. We fed these four Collared peccaries in order to be right next to them as they ate. (Initially, the javelinas announced themselves by making a tremendous ruckus, upending clay pots to vacuum up the spilled bird food underneath): SUCH a TREAT to be only inches away as they made 'pigs' of themselves (they're peccaries of course, NOT pigs) ... NOTE: we've never fed our javelinas before, but in THIS case, finding them ransacking our patio on the EVE of our MOVE from Tucson, we made an exception -- for the camera, and for posterity. (AND because we are ARTISTS, and cannot help but enjoy our artistic license.) Once ... we had to chase as many thirteen javelinas out of our backyard in the middle of the night -- after hearing them uprooting and ... 2010年05月18日再生回数 3988 |
