![]() | Squatter Community Living Under A Bridge In Metro Manila Philippines I am whitedragonawa. This is a squatter community that lives under a bridge that is over the Pasig River in Metro Manila. Unfortunately the original video file of this was accidently lost so only an mp4 is available so the quality as not as good as it could have been. I went with a California FilAm church and did some charity work for these people as well as other things while on a missions trip. This is the reality of many of the poor people in the Philippines in urban areas. It is very sad. Would you like to live in such a place? There are many factors as to why people are poor so withhold your judgment and arrogance. People are suffering and need help and some love. Jesus loves these people and would not tell them to leave "government land." Squatter communities are a common problem in the Philippines and many people are lucky not to be stuck in one. 2010年10月08日再生回数 3249 |

![]() | Rachel's Bridge RACHELS BRIDGE UPDATE We have exciting news to share! After releasing the "Rachel's Bridge" video on Youtube in September we raised over $1200 within one month. This money allowed us to send Joy Degenhardt of Aid for Kids to Soc Trang to talk to the authorities there about the bridge project. As a result, Joy received very favorable support from the government for us to proceed with raising the money we will need to see this bridge built. Joy has reported that, "The government is very supportive of this project and they are wanting to get the village involved as much as possible. They are envisioning a cement bridge 25 meters long and 2.5 meters wide. " As we had previously shared, our desire is for this bridge to not only benefit Rachel's birth family but also the entire community. The report supports this desire and estimates that this small cement bridge will benefit about 1500 people in Rachel's family's village and the surrounding area. One of the important benefits of replacing the monkey bridge is to provide a safer and quicker way for children to get to school, especially during the rainy season. Many of the children cannot swim and during times of flooding there are incidences of children drowning while trying to get to school. The only other option during flooding if the monkey bridge is impassable is in a small "banana boat". The bridge will also provide a safer and easier way for families, young and old alike to get to town and the local market and back home ... 2011年09月08日再生回数 628 |

However this gave me the opportunity to capture the GREAT ARCHITECTURAL MARVEL of IR, PAMBAN bridge over the sea at midnight sharp. DETAILS ABOUT THE PAMBAN BRIDGE The Pamban Bridge (Tamil: பாம்பன் பாலம்) is a cantilever bridge on the Palk Strait connects Rameswaram on Pamban Island to mainland India. It refers to both the road bridge and the cantilever railway bridge, though primarily it means the latter. It was India's first sea bridge. It is the second longestsea bridge in India (after Bandra-Worli Sea Link) at a length of about 2.3 km. The railway bridge is 6776 ft (2065 m)[1] and was opened for traffic in 1914. The railroad bridge is a still-functioning double-leaf bascule bridge section that can be raised to let ships pass under the bridge. The railway bridge historically carried metre-gauge trains on it, but Indian Railways upgraded the bridge to carry broad-gauge trains in a project that finished Aug. 12, 2007. Until recently, the two leaves of the bridge were opened manually using levers by workers.[1] About 10 ships — cargo carriers, coast guard ships, fishing vessels and oil tankers — pass through the bridge every month. From the elevated two-lane road bridge, adjoining islands and the parallel rail ... 2012年05月09日再生回数 166 |

![]() | Kids4Kids: The Rag-Pickers of Delhi Meet Azijul, Taniya and Naseema from the slums of New Delhi and see how Sharan, a local organisation, is working with their community to bring hope to the people who live under the bridge. Note: Since the original filming of this documentary, Azijul, Taniya & Naseema have grown up. The basti (slum) under the bridge that was their home was eventually closed down by the city authorities. The families who lived there were relocated. TEAR partners in India, such as Saahasee (formerly Sharan), EFICOR, Muneer, Elysion, Emmanuel Hospital Association and Oasis, continue to work alongside people like Azijul and his family, as they develop ways to tackle poverty and injustice in their own communities. Through our relationships with Indian partners, and with the communities in which they work, we continue to learn about the problems poor and marginalised people face, and how we can best act to see change. 2009年11月30日再生回数 2136 |
