![]() | Compaq Portable I (1983) Well, I've acquired an even older computer running an even older version of MS-DOS than the Compaq Portable III, which I made a video about some time ago. I picked up this beauty off of eBay, and it runs great, aside from certain keys not working (which can be fixed by wedging a toothpick in there to hit the keys). I will be trying to run some viruses on this if you guys would like to see that. I'm not sure how well viruses will respond to MS-DOS 2.0 but we'll just have to see, now won't we? 2011年04月28日再生回数 6395 |

![]() | Compaq Portable I - DEMO.BAS DEMO.BAS is a demo program included on the Compaq DOS (MS-DOS) 1.11 diskette. This program demonstrates a variety of neat sounds and capabilities that the Compaq Portable I is capable of performing. Sorry for the random changing of the brightness, apparently this program messes with the brightness of the screen depending on what part of the program it is running, making it difficult for the screen to be legible at all times. 2011年12月09日再生回数 4682 |
![]() | Compaq Portable I Plus This is a video of me demonstrating the Compaq Portable I(one) plus. I forgot to mention it has 256KB of RAM. I also got the date wrong on this one. It was released in 1983, but design started in 1981. 2007年09月13日再生回数 2023 |

![]() | Compaq Portable III (1987) So I managed to grab this beauty of an old computer, the Compaq Portable III off of eBay for $20, not including shipping. It came with the duffel bag and operation's manual/registration card, so I'm happy about that. I got a few requests to make a video demonstrating it, or else, according to my friends at MalwareUp ( www.malwareup.selfip.com ), the computer didn't exist. So here's the video. The Compaq Portable III, isn't portable at all, since you need a power cable plugged in at all times to use it. The air around it also smells of burning rubber bands when using it, but that's the wonder and glory of old technology. Did I forget to mention that it weighs about twenty pounds? It has 8KB of RAM, no hard drive and it won't boot up without the MS-DOS 3.3 boot disk, which I don't have. It was possible back in the day to order those disks and several other upgrades, including expansion memory (up to 8MB), expansion hard drives (up to 40MB), and an 8MHz processor. My oh my, how times have changed. I doubt I will ever be able to test something on this glorious old beast of a computer, but it's nice to have it in my collection. I love old technology. If any of you out there have an oldie but a goodie that you don't want or need, I'll be glad to take or buy it off of your hands. 2010年07月19日再生回数 8367 |

![]() | Viruses on the Compaq Portable III Everyone loves Ambulance and Techno, and it just so happens they both run flawlessly on the old Compaq Portable III. Too bad LSD won't work on there, that would be freaking awesome. Also, thanks to Nas49Razing for finding the boot disk. His channel is here: www.youtube.com 2010年09月06日再生回数 12550 |
