	[quicktip] how to compile and install gedit(-dash) in ubuntu 11.10  www.eurobytes.nl gedit(projects.gnome.org is a powerful text-editor that can be extended with some plugins(projects.gnome.org one of my favorite plugin is gedit-dash although you can't install it via ubuntu-software-center(www.ubuntu.com but you can download the files from a Dropbox url(dl.dropbox.com the quickest way to install is via command line like this . # dependencies sudo apt-get -y install python-pygments wget dl.dropbox.com mkdir -p ~/.local/share/gedit/plugins sudo file-roller gedit-dash.tar.gz --extract-to=/home/YOUR USERNAME/.local/share/gedit/plugins rename the "YOUR USERNAME" comment to... your username while we are taking about installing gedit-dash lets upgrade to the latest stable version of gedit-3.2.6(ftp.gnome.org this may take 10 min or less. sudo apt-get build-dep gedit cd /tmp wget ftp.gnome.org tar Jxf gedit-3.2.6.tar.xz cd gedit-3.2.6 ./configure make sudo make install after you compiled and installed gedit. gedit wont open. you must reboot your system first that will fix it 2012年02月21日再生回数 483

	GEDIT - The Use of Single-Stroke Marks (Marking Menus) in Graphical Interaction  This is work builds on my 1982 study on selection-positioning tasks (see links to paper and video in references below), and was done at by Gord Kurtenbach and my self prior to 1990, as part of the research of the Input Research Group (IRG) of the University of Toronto. GEDIT is an exploration of how to use a single-stroke shorthand marking technique to select and interact with graphical objects. It makes use of radial menus, and constituted some of our early work in what came to be known as a "marking menus."
