	Natasha from Mctears talks about The Renfrewshire Pig painting.  ALISON WATT OBE RSA (SCOTTISH 1966 - ) THE RENFREWSHIRE PIG oil on canvas, signed 122cm x 91.5cm Private Scottish collection since 1988. "This painting was made in 1987/88 when I was studying at Glasgow School of Art as a Postgraduate student. The standing figure is a self portrait, the seated figure is my sister Pauline, whom I often painted at that time. The upturned tea cup is the same one used in the portrait of the Queen Mother, which had been commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery in London and which I was working on at the same time. I was sworn to secrecy about the portrait before it's unveiling but the tea cup is a reference to it and is positioned in a similar way. The inclusion of the ring is obviously a love token. The architectural detail seen in the top right is taken from the bay window opposite my studio in Lauderdale Gardens in Hyndland (Glasgow). The painting was used for the cover of a book of short stories published by Harper Collins in 1989 entitled 'The Red Hog of Colima'. Los principales mercados asiáticos cerraron esta madrugada. Así, es lógico que sean los bancos y aseguradoras los que lideren las caídas en unos mercados que están cayendo entre un 2% y un 3% a la apertura. Sufren especialmente aquellos bancos europeos con más exposición a la deuda de Lehman: UBS, Royal Bank of Scotland, HBOS o Deutsche Bank. Estos bancos están cayendo del orden del 6%-8% Los bancos españoles y los italianos, caen algo menos que los grandes alemanes y franceses, aunque rondan el 4%. Fuera del ámbito financiero se ha cerrado una operación corporativa en el sector de especialidades químicas europeas. BASF compra Ciba Holdings por 50 francos suizos por acción. Las acciones de Ciba suben un 28%. En España, entre las noticias corporativas destaca el anuncio de Colonial, que ha conseguido refinanciar su deuda. Esto implicaría que la inmobiliaria vendería de forma inminente su 15% en FCC. Otras noticias destacan la intención de Mutua Madrileña de no vender su 2,5% en Repsol con minusvalías, lo que se traduce en un precio mínimo de venta de 24 euros por acción.
