(The successor to the IBM PC (5150)) The specs are: -Intel 8088 @ 4.77 MHz -640 KB Ram -MS-DOS 5.0 (w/ Windows 1.01) -10 MB Hard Drive -5.25" 360 KB Floppy Drive -EGA Graphics w/ IBM Color Display (5153) -IBM 5152 Graphics Printer This is a wonderful vintage computer, and is probably one of the most prized in my collection. 	Original IBM PC resurrected  This is my original IBM Personal Computer in all its 4.77 MHz glory, now finally working again after two blown capacitors put it out of commission when I last tried it a year ago. I got this PC, including the original keyboard and IBM CGA color monitor, many years ago from the original owner, who used it as his work computer (it had the company's ID sticker on the case). Originally a 256K dual-floppy machine, I added more memory, a multi-function board, and a 20 MB Seagate MFM hard drive. Once I get the CGA video board working again, it will be restored to exactly how I had it a decade ago. Amazingly the original battery for the clock/calendar still seems to be keeping the time somehow! As far as I can tell, the NiCad "blue barrel" battery is original to the multifunction board (circa 1987-1988) and has never been replaced. I also give an example of how some classic DOS CGA games are *not* compatible with modern VGA video displays and will just show a garbled screen. 2009年02月03日再生回数 36463

	IBM PC Model 5155 connected on Internet  [ Don't forget to activate subtitles! ] Let's browse the Web with an old but magnificient IBM Model 5155 Portable Computer (1984) : Intel 8088 @4,77 MHz - 640 KB of RAM - 20 MB RLL Hard Drive (Seagate ST238R) - Built-in 9'' amber CGA display. This transportable computer weights no more than 13,6 kg. Software : Antonio Lopez Molero's PPPD for DOS Packet Driver + MSDOS 6.22 + Bobcat (Lynx port to DOS) web brower. I used an HP Laptop running OpenBSD 4.4 as a PPP gateway, allowing the IBM 5155 to connect to Internet via a RS232 cable. The laptop is connected to a DSL Router via a wireless NIC. This video is a basic illustration of the method described in a PDF document I wrote some times ago, explaining how to connect old computers to Internet via RS232 serial cable and DSL Routers, using PPP and SLIP protocols and an OpenBSD PPP/SLIP gateway. This model is somewhat rare because only one year later, IBM introduced the 101-key "extended" Model M keyboard across its PC lineup, which most AT buyers opted for instead of the 84-key keyboard. 	Vintage IBM PC games: Pango, Lawn Mower, Ribbit & Tetris x 2  Playing Pango, Lawn Mower, Ribbit (a Frogger clone), the original 1986 USSR version of Tetris, and the 1989 Spectrum Holobyte version of Tetris on the original IBM 5150 Personal Computer. Note that my attempt at quickly describing the legal troubles surrounding Spectrum Holobyte's release of Tetris wasn't quite accurate. And even after reading the detailed Wikipedia article on the issue, I'm still not sure of exactly how things unfolded back then. The best I can describe it is that Spectrum Holobyte was fooled into thinking they had legally acquired the rights to develop and distribute their own version of Tetris, when in fact they did not.
