 | Jean Renoir - A Day in the Country (1936) This short film is, in fact, just a part of a movie that Jean Renoir didn't finish. It shows the central part of the project. In the nineteen century, it shows a city family on a vacation on the countryside. A young peasant fell in love with the girl of the family, who was to marry an old man. This is a very beautiful movie, with poetry, charm and wonderful natural settings. At the end of the movie, we saw the original finale when the young woman, now marry to the old man, came back to the countryside where she once find true love. Simplicity at it's peak. it's available online www.veoh.com For further details see: www.imdb.com 2011年08月23日再生回数 9598

 | JEAN RENOIR - DANSE MACABRE (La Règle du Jeu - 1939) Widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made, Jean Renoir's masterpiece The Rules of the Game (La Règle du jeu) is a scathing critique of corrupt French society cloaked in a comedy of manners. The awful thing about life is this: Everyone has his reasons. @copyright owners please contact me before cancelling this video 2011年03月22日再生回数 8937

 | Rules of the Game (Jean Renoir, 1939) - Music Toy Scene Robert (Marcel Dalio) introduces his new toy to his guests. "Dalio says he was embarrassed, because it seemed simple to stand proudly beside his toy, yet they had to reshoot for two days. Yes, says Renoir, because the facial expression had to be exact -- proud, and a little embarrassed to be so proud, and delighted, but a little shy to reveal it. The finished shot, ending with Robert's face, is a study in complexity, and Renoir says it may be the best shot he ever filmed. It captures the buried theme of the film: That on the brink of war they know what gives them joy but play at denying it, while the world around them is closing down joy, play and denial." - Roger Ebert 2010年08月13日再生回数 2545
