In My Shoes: Stories of Youth with LGBT ParentsIn My Shoes: Stories of Youth with LGBT Parents
In a time when LGBT families are debated and attacked in the media, courts and Congress, from school houses to state houses across the country, five young people who are children of LGBT parents give you a chance to walk in their shoes - to hear their own views on marriage, making change, and what it means to be a family. This film was produced by the COLAGE Youth Leadership and Action Program and directed by Jen Gilomen. Dir. Jen Gilomen & COLAGE 2005 31min. USA Founded in 1977, Frameline is the nation's only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to the funding, exhibition, distribution and promotion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender media arts. Frameline Voices is a new digital initiative that showcases diverse LGBT stories and expands access to films by and about people of color, transgender people, youth, and elders. LGBT Vs. GLBTLGBT Vs. GLBT
Do you say LGBT or GLBT or queer or something different? Visit my personal blog: www.breaktheillusion.com Visit my fitness blog www.daveywaveyfitness.com Like me on facebook www.facebook.com Follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com Second channel: www.youtube.com Here's the thing: In my blogs and videos, I almost always say LGBT, standing for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. But pretty much everytime I say it, i get emails from people that are so upset that as a gay man, I didn't put the "G" first. To be honest, the reason I do it is because lesbians really face a double whammy of discrimination - first for being a woman, and secondly for being gay. So I put the "L" first in the acronym to recognize that. But really, if you think about it - transgender individuals probably face the most discrimination - and then most people don't even think bisexuality even exists. So maybe it should be TBLG? And then there's queer, but a whole bunch of people really don't like that. And maybe you're thinking, "What the big deal?" And sure there are plenty of other issues that deserve our time and attention, but it is something that matters to a lot of people and is certainly worthy of discussion. So - what do you say? GLBT? LBGT? LGBTUVWXYZ? And why do you say it?

Phoenix LGBT flash mob silences bigoted preachers with "Born This Way"Phoenix LGBT flash mob silences bigoted preachers with "Born This Way"
At Phoenix Pride 2012, a group of bigoted preachers who attend LGBT pride celebrations in many states, heckled folks leaving the pride parade. One hurled particularly vile, un-Christian insults at the crowd, causing emotions to run high. Then a flash mob, led by Queen B, demonstrated what true Christian love was about by performing "Born This Way" to the cheers of the crowd - and silencing the hate speech of the preachers.
