 | Margaret Kennedy ( EPPSP Meeting May 12 2010) Vatican watcher Marco Politi has proposed setting up a European-wide monitoring system of (church) sex offenders to observe their comings and goings. He made his proposal during a EPPSP meeting on religion and sexual abuse in the EP on Wednesday May 12. Furthermore, he has called on every institution in the EU for full disclosure of their archives to clear all previous cases of child abuse. Mrs. Margaret Kennedy was one of the other speakers (she is an active campaigner for survivors of clergy abuse. Fifteen years ago she started MACSAS - Ministry And Clergy Sexual Abuse Survivors UK and ran this organisation up until 2009). Mrs. Kenndey alluted to the scope of the problem by claiming that for every sexual offender there is probably one hundred victims. Furthermore she stressed that the crimes are not only of the past and that they continue today.
