	Smart Capital Allocation Key - REITWorld Interview with Trevor Bond of WP Carey (REITs@50 Series)  www.reit.com Even with fresh capital flowing into the market, REITs have to spend prudently, according to Trevor Bond, president and CEO of WP Carey & Co. LLC (NYSE WPC). In an interview with REIT.com from REITWorld 2010: NAREIT's Convention for All Things REIT at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York, Bond noted that the capital influx creates both opportunities and risks for REITs. "I think that we have a lot liquidity coming into certain sectors," he said. "That can be a challenge. It can be a heady feeling while it's happening, but it also poses some risks." Namely, Bond said, his company is striving to find the deals that are actually worth that investment. "The challenge is to make sure that the supply of opportunities available matches that fundraising," he said. "So far, we're finding that to be the case." Bond indicated that low overall yields in the market are attracting investors to WP Carey's stock, which is boosting the company's fundraising: "I think that there's a good equilibrium between the amounts of the funds that are being raised and the opportunities that we're seeing." WP Carey provides long-term sale-leaseback and build-to-suit financing for companies worldwide. Some smaller- and medium-sized companies may be having problems acquiring debt and generating liquidity, according to Carey.
