 | Marco Baringer's SLIME Tutorial Video SLIME, the Superior Lisp Interaction Mode for Emacs, is an Emacs mode for developing Common Lisp applications. SLIME originates in an Emacs mode called SLIM written by Eric Marsden and developed as an open-source project by Luke Gorrie and Helmut Eller. Over 100 Lisp developers have contributed code to SLIME since the project was started in 2003. SLIME uses a backend called SWANK that is loaded into Common Lisp.  | annot: A global annotation manager for GNU Emacs `annot.el' is a general and scalable annotation manager that works on GNU Emacs. It lets you add/remove/edit annotations on any file (or buffer) and manages them for later use. All annotations are stored separately for each annotated file and get reproduced when the file is opened again. You can even store annotations on non-editable files.  | Video Tutorial: Compiling GNU Emacs 23.2.1 under Mac OS X 10.6.5 Snow Leopard (Emacs.app) This video gives a demonstration of how to compile a current GNU Emacs (Emacs.app) under Mac OS X Snow Leopard on a three year old MacBook. It takes less than ten minutes. You have to install Apple developer tools beforehand. Having compiled it, you may move Emacs.app to any directory you like. Any extensions that are not part of the GNU Emacs distribution available from ftp.gnu.org have to be installed separately, eg AUCTeX for editing TeX-related files you have to obtain from www.gnu.org and compile separately.
