	Charles Babbage, Konrad Zuse and the Computer  A computer is a programmable machine designed to sequentially and automatically carry out a sequence of arithmetic or logical operations. The particular sequence of operations can be changed readily, allowing the computer to solve more than one kind of problem. In 1837, Charles Babbage was the first to conceptualize and design a fully programmable mechanical computer, his analytical engine. Konrad Zuse's Z3 (1941) was the first working machine featuring binary arithmetic, including floating point arithmetic and a measure of programmability. 	12. Mai 1941 Erster elektronischer Computer Z3  Konrad Zuses Rechner Z3 war ein vollständiger Computer und zwar der erste funktionsfähige, programmgesteuerte der Welt. Am 12.5.1941 wurde er zum ersten Mal erfolgreich öffentlich vorgeführt. Der Rechner wog 1000 kg und verbrauchte 4 KW Strom. Die Taktfrequenz betrug zwischen 5 und 10 Hz. Eine Addition benötigte 3 Takte, eine Multiplikation 16 und eine Division 28 Takte. In kleinem Maßstab enthielt die Z3 schon alle Elemente eines heutigen Computers: Es gab: Ein Rechenwerk mit aus 600 Relais mit 2 Registern (Fliesskomaeinheit) à 22 Bit Einen Taktgeber mit 5.44 Hz (Nein nicht Gigaherz !)
