	NOAH-NEW ORLEANS ARCOLOGY HABITAT  Tangram 3DS brings Floating City to Life Tangram 3DS, a firm specializing in visualization and computer animation, announced its collaboration with E. Kevin Schopfer AIA, RIBA. Together, the companies have designed and presented a bold new urban platform. New Orleans Arcology Habitat (NOAH) is a proposed urban Arcology (architecture and ecology), whose philosophic underpinnings rest in combining large scale sustainability with concentrated urban structures, and in this case a floating city. Tangram 3DS worked with Schopfer to visualize this unique concept and structure. Starting from basic sketches, Tangram 3DS transformed Schopfers ideas into visuals and an animation. Our work helps Kevin convey his concept to the City of New Orleans, investors, the media, and public, said Stefan Vittori, president and founder of Tangram 3DS, LLC. To be able to visualize a design project in 3D and through animation is absolutely vital when attempting to sell a design concept that may at first glance be hard to grasp, adds Vittori. Why a floating city? There are three major challenges to building in New Orleans. The first challenge is to overcome both the physical and psychological damages of recurring severe weather patterns. Though repopulation has begun, the need to provide a stabilized and safe environment is paramount to a long-term recovery and economic well being of New Orleans. 	[PAOLO SOLERI] Lean Linear City: Arterial Arcology  Lean Linear City (LCC) proposes a continuous urban ribbon of twenty or more stories high, extending for many kilometers. Two main, parallel structures are built in modules measuring 200 meters (600 feet) in length. Each module accommodates about 3000 residents and spaces for commercial, industrial, educational, cultural, recreational, and health maintenance activities. LLC suggests a possibility of sustainable urban development within its structure and the environment beyond. 	Minecraft 1.5 - Arcology  Started in the middle of February 2011. Private server owned by a friend. Not allowed to use /give command except for nether materials. Server mods: None. Client mods: Zan's Minimap. Improved Chat. 32x32 Faithful Texture Pack. This arcopolis is the biggest project I've done to date, and with no /give command, by far the longest. There's an entire area slightly larger than the arcopolis itself that has been stripped down to stone, and two 10x10 digsites that bore all the way down to bedrock, and a medium size excavation at the bottom. Thanks to my friends on the server for giving me some of the materials from their chests - the huge stockpiles of cobblestone, smooth stone, and wood that I depleted were in large part thanks to them! Both sound tracks are remixes of Chrono Trigger music - Corridors of Time and Schala's Theme PS Yes. I said Arcopolis on the video. 	Minecraft Arcology  I made a self contained bio-dome with minimal help from TooManyItems. I found it intriguing and was a goal to set for myself.
